Japan's Coolest Denim

Anyone who's ever been to Japan will attest to the fact that the Japanese take their jeans very, very seriously. There is sort of a national obsession with denim and namely with the 'way things used to be made', particularly in the United States. Japanese collectors of vintage denim from brands like Levi's, Lee, and Wrangler, have created a market for what is known as 'replica' denim, or new jeans carefully crafted to 'replicate' the exact look and feel of the originals from the past. There are tons of various brands of these jeans (including the big names, like Levi's who put out their own replicas of their old models) but here's a partial list of some of the coolest Japanese brands and the links to their sites:

1. The Flathead

2. Warehouse

3. Studio D'Artisan

4. The Real McCoy's

5. Sugarcane

6. Samurai Jeans
